AugMe Foundation is proud to announce the completion of it's first project to provide breast prostheses for well deserving and under served breast cancer patients in Kumasi, Ghana. I personally delivered over 30 prostheses and special bras to Dr. Lisa Newman, Surgical Oncologist, at the University of Michigan, on Friday July 31st to take with her to Kumasi, Ghana where she will performs surgery on breast cancer survivors. Dr. Newman is researching possible links between African American women and African women with TNBC (triple negative breast cancer) in hopes of finding a cure. 60% of African women with breast cancer are TNBC and African American women are three times as likely to have TNBC.
